Wearables, wearables, wearables. That seems to be all we hear about these days. Back at CES last month, we saw plenty of them. It seemed like everyone had a wearable they were showing off. Even Razer. Now Huawei has brought their own wearable to Barcelona for Mobile World Congress. They’ve announced it alongside their MediaPad M1 and X1 and the Ascend G6. Their wearable is the TalkBand B1, which is a smartband, and even has a pop-out earpiece for taking voice calls.

They actually have a removable earpiece tucked inside, which is they the smartband is 14.6mm thick. As expected, the TalkBand B1 also has fitness tracking features. It can record the amount of steps you’ve taken, how far you’ve travelled, and how many calories you’ve burned. It can also function as a sleep monitor. So you can use the smart alarm function to wake up at the optimal time.

Huawei has also included NFC, so you can pair with your smartphone easier. The TalkBand B1 only has a 90mAh battery, which the Chinese manufacturer is promising around six days of usage. However it does take about 2 hours to charge up, so it must take very little input from it’s charger.

So far, Huawei hasn’t announced a price for the TalkBand B1, but it is slated to go on sale in China next month. Then head to other regions in Q2 2014. Those other regions include Japan, the Middle East, Russia and Western Europe. So far there are no plans for the US. Which is kind of sad, but Huawei isn’t all that popular over here, anyways. So that could be part of the reason.

It’s a good looking smartband, and it comes in many colors, which is nice to have as well. I’m digging the black and grey ones though. Depending on the price, this could be a really good seller. If only Huawei is able to make it into more countries and regions.
